Houseplants for allergies

If you are someone that has a lot of allergies and needs to have houseplants that do not add to this problem, you will be able to find some that you can live with. There are many different houseplants to choose from. You can find ones that will light up your home and make you feel good at the same time.

You can use ferns in your home. Ferns should be used on the floor or on small stands. The leaves of the ferns have tiny dots on them and they contain thousands of spores. These allergens are easily spread through the air when the ferns are hanging. This is why you want them to be low to the ground.

You may also want to stick with snapdragons where the pollen is enclosed in the flower and does not get out easily. Pinch off the stamens to remove the pollen and you will have the flower with you longer as well. This is a great tip to help you breath better and to keep your plants longer.

You should be careful when you are cutting off the stems of any kinds because people with sensitive skin can develop a rash from the sap and this may be harmful for some. You will want to check to make sure this is something that you can do so that you are not putting yourself at risk for any potential problems.

Keep your houseplants dusted well. You will find that when you houseplants, they may accumulate dust. This will cause a lot of problems for some with allergies. If you want to make sure that you are not putting yourself at risk for problems, you should use warm soapy water to rinse your plants at lease once a month. This will kill any potential dust mite problems that you may be finding.

You can keep water in a spray bottle and use this to finely mist the houseplants to keep the dust mites off of your plants. You can do this once a week or whenever the problem starts to get worse for you and your allergies. You will find that when you have clean houseplants, you will feel better too.
